What this dataset contains

The NWSDB 2024 annual report provides end-year service connections for regional support centres and operational regions in 2023 and 2024, including both independently published national totals. It also provides 2015–2024 pipe-borne population coverage for NWSDB, other providers and the national total, plus its reported safe-water coverage for 2023 and 2024. Embedded table and figure labels were read visually against the original report.

How it is used here

Compare operational-region connection counts in 2024 or track national pipe-borne water coverage. Choose either the support-centre or operational-region breakdown to avoid counting the same connections twice.

What it cannot tell you

Utility regions are operational areas and must not be assumed to match administrative districts or provinces. Regional support centres and their operational regions overlap, as do their national totals. Connections are service points, not people or households. Coverage percentages refer to population and use the report’s definitions; safe-water coverage is a separately reported indicator. Coverage components and published totals can differ slightly through rounding. Figure labels provide rounded historical percentages; no unlabelled chart values are estimated.
