What this dataset contains
Prices in Sri Lankan rupees for ten selected building materials, 2021–2025. Each product retains its quoted sale unit. DCS identifies the cement as Holcim Super Cement and the plain ceiling sheet price as the average of Rino and Mascon.
How it is used here
Compare the cement price per 50 kg bag or clay brick price per 1,000 over time. Other products can be selected with their own quoted units.
What it cannot tell you
These are nominal national retail prices for selected products, not a construction cost index, project quotation or district price survey. Product specifications and package sizes differ. The unit for sand is printed as “Cube” without a volume definition. Its 2025 price contains two decimal points and has no numeric value here. An extra final full stop in the 2025 boiled-lime price was removed after visual review; the original token and review note are retained.
