Privacy policy
How Developing Country handles account information, saved map activity, and connections to your AI tools.
What this covers
This policy covers developing-country.org and explore.developing-country.org. Contact the Developing Country maintainer at ghoshanjega@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests.
Google sign-in and your account
When you choose Google sign-in, we request your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier. We use that information to identify your account, sign you in, and associate your saved activity with you. Google sign-in requests basic identity information; it does not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or your contacts.
Authentication records can include provider tokens, session identifiers, expiry times, your IP address, and browser information. If you register with email and password, the authentication system stores a password hash. Session cookies keep you signed in and protect the sign-in process.
Map activity and public contributions
Saved prospects, analysis locations, and related notes are associated with your account. You choose which locations and information to submit. Issue reports and contributions intended for the community are publicly readable. Public Data View links can also be viewed by anyone who has the link. Avoid including private personal information in public reports or shared views.
Connected AI tools
When you authorize an MCP client, we store its authorization and tokens so it can use Developing Country tools under your account. A connected client can receive the information returned by the tools it calls, including account-specific results where authorized. Review the client's own privacy practices before connecting it. Google sign-in by itself does not connect an AI client.
Hosting and service information
Cloudflare hosts the service and its databases and storage. Requests and authentication operations can generate operational and security logs. Your browser may contact third-party map, imagery, or data services used by the explorer; those services receive the requests sent to them and handle them under their own policies.
Use of Google data
Google account information is used for authentication and account features. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. Developing Country's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can sign out, delete saved prospects using the app, and revoke the Google connection through Google Account connections. Revoking Google's connection does not itself delete records already stored by Developing Country.
Account records and saved content persist until deleted; the app does not currently provide automatic account deletion. Contact the maintainer to request access, correction, or deletion of your account information. Public contributions and shared views should be identified in your request so we can review them too. Service logs and backups may have separate retention from active account records.
Changes
We will update this page when the service's data practices change. The date above identifies the latest version. See also the terms of use.
