What this dataset contains
Final-report Table 6.1.11 keeps Sinhalese, Sri Lanka Tamil, Indian Tamil / Malaiyaga Thamilar, Sri Lanka Moor / Muslim, Burgher, Malay and Other. Other includes Chetty, Bharatha and Veddas. Both census years are retained so change can be read without mixing vintages.

What it cannot tell you
Ethnic group is as declared by the respondent. These are census enumeration counts, not mid-year estimates.
