What this dataset contains

Table A1 reports occupied housing units as single houses (by storeys) and attached houses (by floor band), plus a small other class. The platform keeps counts and the published shares. The national total is 6,030,541 occupied housing units.

How it is used here

The chart ranks districts by the share of occupied units that are single-storey single houses. Attached-floor bands remain in the table; almost all units of 20 storeys or more are in Colombo District.

What it cannot tell you

These are occupied housing units, not households or resident population. A floor band is the census structure class, not a building-height survey or a condominium register.
