What this dataset contains
Sri Lanka Ports Authority annual averages compiled by DCS for 2018–2024. Each measure distinguishes container and non-container ships. Time measures are average waiting, service and turnaround time in hours. Handling rates are metric tonnes per ship-hour at berth and in port.
How it is used here
Compare container and non-container turnaround time, waiting time or handling rates over the reported years. Keep time measures separate from throughput rates.
What it cannot tell you
These are annual averages for Colombo, not individual-ship records, maximum delays, terminal-specific performance or service guarantees. Different time measures cannot be substituted for one another or added as a verified identity. Ship size, cargo mix and operating conditions can affect the averages; the table does not establish causes of changes. Tonnage rates are metric tonnes per ship-hour, not container counts or TEU productivity.
