What this dataset contains
National annual Ceylon Electricity Board and Ceylon Petroleum Corporation figures for 2021–2025, compiled by DCS. Electricity measures cover net generation by provider and technology and sales by customer category. Fuel measures cover imported refined petroleum, processed crude oil and LPG production.
How it is used here
Track total electricity sales, compare domestic, industrial and commercial electricity sales, or select the petroleum and LPG series with their own units. Electricity is in GWh; petroleum quantities are in thousands of metric tonnes and LPG in metric tonnes.
What it cannot tell you
Generation totals, provider subtotals and technology categories overlap. Electricity generation and sales differ in coverage and are not a direct estimate of grid losses. LECO is a separately reported electricity sales category. Other renewable energy groups wind, biomass, solar, dendro and municipal waste; the source says rooftop solar has been included in generation since 2018. Rounded components can differ slightly from totals. Fuel mass cannot be added to electricity output without energy conversion factors. These annual figures use a different reporting scope from the platform’s recent grid-generation feed.
