What this dataset contains
Annual DCS national figures for 2020–2025. Animal groups are cattle, buffaloes, goats and sheep combined, pigs and poultry, all in thousands of animals. Milk production is in thousands of litres; eggs are in millions.
How it is used here
Track milk and egg production in separate charts or select an animal group to examine changes in its population.
What it cannot tell you
Livestock stocks and annual product output measure different things. Species groups cannot be added to product quantities, and goats and sheep cannot be separated from this table. National figures do not show district distribution, herd productivity, farm structure or food access. The published scaling is retained rather than converting thousands or millions to unlabelled counts.
