What this dataset contains
Annual Department of Labour indices for 2018–2025, compiled by DCS at base 1978=100. The classes are agriculture, industry and commerce, services, and all classes combined.
How it is used here
Track the combined minimum wage index or compare the three worker classes on the published index base.
What it cannot tell you
These are index numbers, not wage amounts in rupees, average earnings or the share of workers paid a minimum wage. They do not measure inflation-adjusted purchasing power or compliance with wage rules. The combined index overlaps the worker-class indices and cannot be added to them. The Pocket Book does not provide the weights or detailed occupational coverage.
