What this dataset contains
The Department of Census and Statistics publishes Registrar General estimates in thousands. The platform converts them to people and keeps one row per geography, year and sex; the 2020 to 2023 values are marked provisional in the source.
How it is used here
The chart compares the published total estimate for each district in 2024 and retains the national total as context.
What it cannot tell you
These values are annual estimates produced with the population balancing equation, not Census 2024 enumeration counts.
