What this dataset contains
Department of Examinations figures for 2024 and 2025. O/L records candidates who sat at least five subjects and the percentage qualifying for A/L. A/L records candidates who sat, the number qualifying for university and their qualification percentage, with an additional applied count for all candidates. School candidates and all candidates remain separate populations.
How it is used here
Compare qualification rates between examination years within the same candidate group. Distinguish applications from attendance, and qualification from subsequent enrolment.
What it cannot tell you
All candidates includes school candidates; the two groups must not be added. O/L attendance covers candidates sitting five or more subjects. University qualification is examination eligibility, not an offer, admission or enrolment. The source labels examination years without specifying actual sitting dates or tracking individual cohorts. Annual O/L and A/L counts do not form a student transition series, and two reported years do not establish a long-term trend. Results are national, with no district or school detail.
