What this dataset contains
Annual national Ministry of Education figures for 2022–2025, compiled by DCS. The school types are government schools, government-approved private schools, special schools and Piriven. The table includes category counts, totals, published pupil–teacher ratios and new government-school admissions.
How it is used here
Track the total pupil count over time or compare published pupil–teacher ratios across the four school types. School and teacher counts provide context for enrolment changes.
What it cannot tell you
The totals cover the four reported categories, including Piriven; they are not a count of every education provider. These national aggregates do not describe individual schools, classroom crowding, teacher subjects or district inequalities. Pupil–teacher ratios are published whole-number ratios, not class sizes. New admissions cover government schools only. Totals overlap their school-type components.
