What this dataset contains

The Department of Meteorology figures reproduced in the Pocket Book report average temperature, average day and night relative humidity, and rainfall for 24 observation stations in 2025. Temperature is in degrees Celsius, humidity in percent and rainfall in millimetres. Nine night-humidity cells are unreported.

How it is used here

Compare the reported 2025 rainfall or average temperatures across stations. Use humidity observations only where the source supplies a value and keep day and night measures separate.

What it cannot tell you

These are station observations for one year, not district averages, a nationwide spatial surface, a weather forecast or a long-term climate normal. Station names alone do not establish instrument coordinates or catchment boundaries. Do not sum temperatures or humidity, or treat rainfall at several stations as a national total. Blank night-humidity cells remain unavailable. The Badulla temperature is 23.9 °C in the rendered table; a stray 29.0 in the PDF text layer is excluded after visual review.
